Marketing & Public Relations Intern Job Description


The Tree of Life Christian Ministries located in Clinton, MD is a thriving worship center; seeking an independent, ambitious, creative social media and public relations extern to maximize social media and community platforms to increase exposure both locally and nationally to include, but not limited to: military bases, radio and TV stations, primary, middle, secondary schools and colleges/universities.


  • Use creative means to drive strong engagement and organic growth of all social media properties to convey a sense of community and build our following based on valued content
  • Establish communication brand across all social media platforms
  • Develop content and social media campaigns to maximize exposure
  • Optimize new and existing content for SEO purposes
  • Execute social marketing campaigns and implement community-building efforts and promotions
  • Establish new and maintain existing social media relationships by proactively engaging in discussions surrounding our brand
  • Create and maintain social media relationships with local influencers, including media, government, and community organizations
  • Monitor all social media channels and respond to comments and mentions in a timely manner
  • Develop communication plans and social media calendar
  • Track results and create regular reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of social media campaigns
  • Work closely with members of the marketing team and Pastor to ensure we’re fully leveraging our social media channels for maximum impact/results


  • Candidates must possess at least 2 years of Social & Digital Media Marketing experience
  • Candidate must be pursuing a BS or BA in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, New Media or related field with a 3.0 GPA or higher GPA
  • Proficient with online social networking platforms
  • Understand SEO best practices and principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The selected candidate will telework 90% of the requested time and the hours are flexible.
